has
to be done. But it isn't easy. BIS solves our records problems by making the process so easy!"

About BIS
"BIS provides what customers consider to be the right things, done the right way, on time, the first time, every time."

Frank Albi President, CEO and Founder of BIS
I blog at
Records Management
BIS was found
ed in 1980 when Frank brought the offsite data storage industry to Cincinnati. In 1982 our services expanded to include hardcopy records storage. During this time, we pioneered the use of computer and barcode technology for records center inventory control.
In the late 1980s we experienced explosive growth. In 1990, we purchased a third facility on Spring Grove Avenue in Cincinnati.
In the mid 1990s we developed two new products: BIScan™ and BIStrack™. These software products enabled our customers to create, access, and maintain a powerful Records Control System at their desktop, customized to meet the unique needs of their own body of business records.
Over the years, we re-defined BIS’s strategic focus to enhancing our ability to help customers achieve compliance, save time, control costs, and reduce risk and liability associated with the control of their informational assets.
A simple fact: uncontrolled records create an unacceptable level of risk and liability for any company that keeps them. Our services, systems, and customer support are consistently focused on reducing that risk as much as possible, through emphasis on Records Control Planning and
timely
disposal of unneeded records.
In 1998, we changed our name in support of a new strategic focus. BIS is now Business Information Solutions, Inc.
During the year 2000, we re-engineered our computer systems and architecture so that we could support an unlimited amount of tracking in our relational database services. We also developed BISfile
(R)
a very powerful Windows-based software package enabling our customers to use one database to track all of their corporate records, enterprise wide. BISfile
(R)
provides easy-to-use tools for database maintenance, nomenclature standardization, disposal scheduling, and activity tracking.
Early in 2004, we became a member of the National
Records Centers (NRC). We are now able, as a member of the NRC, to provide off-site document storage and management services all over North America using a network of independently owned records centers.
